Welcome to ZXBN ! From the very
outset I'll state that in case you happened on the present site by chance
and are hopelessly clueless about ZX-Spectrum, it will hardly interest
you. So what for was ZX Spectrum Banner Network (further referred to as
ZXBN) created ? It is aimed at uniting sites, somehow dedicated to
ZX Spectrum platform. ZXBN project is not commercial, so that here you
are truly unlikely to come across ads like "purchase hoofs and horns at
5 greenbacks a kilo", "mother for sale" etc. All the banners displayed
belong to participants in our project. As for its main goal, the project
serves the purpose of enabling a surfer, who called at any participant's
site, to get acquainted with the other sites owned by our crue. But pray,
what is the main difference between ZXBN and commonplace RING ? The difference
is that I'm much dissatisfied with RING's regulations; to be more exact,
its crippled text mode with unknown destination point... with ZXBN it's
completely different ! The banners change dynamically one another and you
are cocksure about the page you will next stroll onto. In other words,
both banner and link it makes reference to, brief you on that.
Providing you made it clear
for yourself, i.e. you run your own site, devoted to ZX Spectrum
and YOU do agree to take part in ZXBN, you will have to fulfill a
number of conditions:
1. What you need is your
banner of standart size 470x60, stored either in JPEG or GIF format. One
thing to tick here: you just don't overdo the file size of it! If it weights
too much and therefore is loaded quite a time, only numbered few
will click on it.
2. Suppose you have
never had a finger in the pie of banners' designing, I will be glad to
assist you in this business.
The next step you need to
make is to place these lines on your web-page, so that it could be seen,
huh.
<SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript"
SRC="http://zxbn.narod.ru/banner.js">
</SCRIPT>
When loading you page, a
banner of a participant or maybe that of yours will crop up on the place
you allocated for it. At the leisure, have a go refreshing it and see the
change.
Having designed the banner
and included the aforesaid lines to your page's source code, you email
it at my address Be so kind as to accompany your
banner by a short questionnaire:
1. your URL;
2. your nickname;
3. your contact e-mail.
So much for the official
part ! As soon as your page is enlisted to ZXBN, we will send you a notification
that henceforth you are the lucky bearer of the proud name that is: "PARTICIPANT
ZXBN".
In case you have questions
to clarify or propositions to make, as well as are in need of assistance
in designing of your banner, feel free to drop us a line by the e-mail
